The Swedish metal band AVATAR has announced several concert dates in the Nordic countries for early 2026 as part of their European tour.
“We are heavy addicts!” proclaims Eckerström. “For all the praise we’ve gotten for what we do on stage, we can’t shake the feeling that we have only just begun. Therefore, this tour is set to break every record and boundary of our past travels. I am not just talking about size. Everything must be better than ever. It’s what we live for, and what we promise.”
Here are the confirmed concert dates and locations:
• Sweden: February 5, 2026, at Fållan in Stockholm, and August 22, 2026, at the Göteborg Brinner festival in Gothenburg...
• Finland: February 7, 2026, at Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki.
• Norway: February 9, 2026, at Sentrum Scene in Oslo and June 7, 2026, at the Trondheim Rocks festival in Trondheim.
• Denmark: February 10, 2026, at Store VEGA in Copenhagen.
Tickets for these shows are available through official ticketing agents like Ticketmaster.se and Livenation.no.
The Swedish band released their tenth studio album "Don't Go In The Forest" earlier this year on Halloween. The metal circus, as they characterise themselves will be on tour all around Europe and UK early on 2026 (February/March), showcasing new and old tracks, promising their biggest promotion yet.
Some of Johannes Eckerström 's (siner of the band) words about the meaning of the album title "Don't Go In The Forest", taken from his interview on www.grimmgent.com
“If you’re a little metal kid and someone says, ‘Don’t go there,’ you immediately go there,” he laughs. To him, the forest is both metaphor and aesthetic, a Lynchian landscape where curiosity leads to revelation. “You walk through the dark, see lights between the trees, and suddenly there’s a circus tent. You go inside — and that’s the Avatar world.”

The countdown to next summer has officially begun. Tuska Festival, Finland’s leading weekend of metal madness, returns to Suvilahti, Helsinki on June 26–28, 2026, and the first artist announcement delivers a powerful one-two punch: Bring Me The Horizon and Bad Omens are confirmed as headliners.

Band in photo : Bring Me The Horizon
From Sheffield, UK, Bring Me The Horizon returns to Tuska following a legendary performance two summers ago. Originally known for their deathcore roots, the band has since redefined modern metal, merging alternative, electronic, and pop elements into a sound all their own. Their latest album, POST HUMAN: NeX GEn has propelled them to even greater global acclaim, and with their live show operating at full force, their 2026 Tuska set is expected to be nothing short of explosive.

Band: Bad Omens
Joining them at the top of the bill is Bad Omens, one of the most sought-after names in today’s heavy music scene. After being forced to cancel their European tour and much-anticipated Tuska debut two years ago, the U.S. metalcore powerhouse is finally making their debut appearance. Known for their emotionally intense sound, moody visuals, and frontman Noah Sebastian’s dynamic presence, Bad Omens has built a devoted global following, especially after their breakthrough 2022 album “The Death of Peace of Mind” and its viral title track.

Band : Ensiferum
The first wave of acts also includes a strong mix of modern and classic names from across the heavy spectrum. Among them are American metalcore force The Plot In You, genre-bending death metal experimentalists Blood Incantation, progressive metal legends Queensrÿche, the Texas-based hardcore steamroller Kublai Khan TX, UK metalcore torchbearers Malevolence, Swedish melodeath pioneers Soilwork, the technically fierce Rivers of Nihil, and Finland’s own Ensiferum and Bloodred Hourglass. Also joining the 2026 lineup are Swedish symphonic power metal outfit Majestica, rising Australian metalcore act Melrose Avenue, chaotic genre-benders The Callous Daoboys from Atlanta, and Danish death metal revivalists Neckbreakker.

Today we are honouring Mortuary Drape, for visiting Athens and Temple two years in a row (at least two years while I've been around as a photographer).

Mortuary Drape is an Italian black metal band formed in 1986. They have released six albums.

Last year on 9/11/2024 I had the great honour to photograph them, the photos were posted, but due to pressure, uncomfortable and unfortunate circumstances the review was never posted. Long story short, they were great! And they played at my personally favourite venue in Athens, Greece, at Temple. This year, 2025 they were back at the Temple shaking the whole place celebrating 30 years as a band!

All I remember and I still can't forget (and I think about it sometimes, yes Mortuary Drape, sometimes I think about you and your rhythms and your riffs and your beautiful chaos) is a crowd full of energy and the first time I experienced a mosh pit in the Temple. Everyone was dancing. I hadn't seen such a chaotic night for a long time and it justifies the name of their new album "All the Witches Dance", which was presented at the Temple (Iakhou 17,Gazi, Athens) on Saturday 6 of December. Perfect ritual to celebrate the end of the year and welcoming 2026. Opening bands (Shadowmass and Böneyard) , also wrote their own history in 2024, I had to mention the incident with the bass drum that broke during the Shadowmass’ set.

The band members arguing with each other, as all of a sudden there was no bass drum and then the drummer informed them that it broke. Yelling “Malaka Malaka Malaka” to each other and the Greeks shouting at the band playfully “Oh horny boys! You are so angry you make us so horny!”(“Ouou Kavliarides mas kavlosate Kavliarides”-in Greek … greeklish) . 10 out of 10 experience, I would pay to see that again.

These things can happen to live shows and that’s what makes them so tasty. The bass drum was replaced with Böneyard’s drummer letting them use their own-the agony on Böneyard’s drummer’s face was gold and just like that the show went on with the headliners. By the way, not judging the opening bands, excuse me for laughing, the bands played delightfully and they were very entertaining. Good… A+.They all pass to the next phase, and hopefully to see more from everybody.
